School Principal at the Book launch of the title ' 18 and not teen' by Dr Anand G Naik

School Principal Mrs Nita Arora was a Chief Guest at the Book Release Event held at the Book Fair , Pragati Maidan, ITPO, New Delhi on January 12, 2019.

The event was the release of '18 But Not Teen' by Dr Anand G Naik, an entrepreneur at the age of 18.

The book is edited by a Former English Teacher of Sri VIS, Ms Mousumi Kalita Sachdeva.

At the Book Fair, another book of Mousumi Kalita Sachdeva - 'The Blend' on a collection of Narrative Poems, Micro Poems, Haiku was released and her earlier books' Love Remains Undefined and 'Making Impossible Possible' were also much sought after by book lovers.

The audience at the Book launch asked questions on what inspired Anand G Naik, in the face of adversity and when did he realise that the actual dreams were different from what were suggested to him. He also highlighted that work could be the entertainment and family time the best time. He said that he learnt from each betrayal and low phase of his journey. He also felt that our curriculum in colleges does not prepare us to be an entrepreneur. One must seek and listen to advice of seniors, in his case, his father gave him financial wisdom, being a banker.

Mrs Arora enlightened the audience with her views on education as an inward journey to know oneself. And that it is not attendance and impeccable classwork or homework that will define success of our young ones but the ability to introspect and analyse.

She reiterated the vision of Ramakrishna Paramhans and Aurobindo on 'Aatam Sakshatkar' as the ultimate goal and journey.

She also reiterated that if our passion is our work or vice versa, we never feel burnt out but enjoy work. Spirituality for her is seeking perfection in work.

Education system has to make our students work with hands to explore and develop knowledge.
